What to include
You do not need a specification. A paragraph about the problem, who has it and what 'solved' would look like is enough for us to give you a useful answer.
If you already have a document, send it. If you have an existing system, mention what it runs on. If you have a deadline or a budget ceiling, say so early — it changes what we would recommend, and we would rather tell you honestly than quietly overrun.
